In a society where cultural and social systems move further towards relations of capital, it is necessary to suggest alternative systems and strategies, which emphasize alternative priorities. ‘S-OS – Revaluation’ juxtaposes currency exchange systems (based on the British Pound) with embryonic non-monetary exchange and trading systems, such as Freecycle and Happies, to propose a revaluation and a potential devaluation of the British Pound against these emergent systems. These systems* capitalise on available resources and offer a critique of society’s placement of monetary value and capital gains above social exchange and communication.
